    what could make my tri-moto smoke thick white out of the exchaust when it gets hot

    Do you have a compression tester? With that you can tell whether it is the rings or valves. Check the base compression, but a couple shots of oil in the cylinder. If the compression increases for a few pulls, it's your rings, if not, it's the valves. Although in my mind, if I am in there to work on valves, I replace the rings too while I have it apart. Takes care of both problems.
    Anyone know of a new project machine for me around Wisconsin?

    i had the same problem but i did the top end over again and now it perrrs like a kitten with a nice touch of blue smoke......beautiful.
