hi i am new at this i have been looking for a klt 200 digram for a while now do you have a picture of one
I tried and post the wiring diagram and it wont work on here. People contacted me on this site and said do this or do that and that didnt help either. So i have another way to put is on now by camera that i just got. Ill be trying to post it soon.

Yeah thats the wiring diagram i sent you. I was trying to put it in the wiring diagram page on here. Yup thats the one. I now have a 1982 KLT 250 and its awesome. The only thing is its noisy in the engine. My friend has a 1987 mohave and its also noisy. The noise is almost the same but diferent in pitch i guess. Is Kawasaki 3 and 4 wheelers always noisy and no mechanical failure?
I can also note on the 1981 klt 200 just about any wiring harness from a 81 to 84 will work. The thing you have to watch is there is one wire that is different in color from the 81. The power going to the igniton box must be grounded. Me and a friend had a power wire going to the Ignition black box. Which dodnt not work and was just an extra power wire. It should of been another color wire completely that was a ground. We put that wire which was completely diferent color wire to the black ignition box and bang spark. We put a wire on the box that was a colored coded correct in wiring diagram but was not right. So an 83 wiring harness will work on an 81 you just have to make sure that the Black ignition box is grounded right, and not having all power wires going to it. The 81 harness you cannot get at a dealer. The 83 84 harness you can.

In my manual there is points type for a klt 200. My klt is an 81 and doesnt have a points type, plus has a kick start thats optional. Now a klt 200 is a KZ motor. KZ motors i believe are older motors that have point set up. You can get KZ points and the hole set up for a KZ and convert your KLT 200. I have been told it works great on starting. All the point set up is a jumper wire comming from the points inside the motor on the side of head for spark. It is the round cover part on the left side of motor thats has two phillips. If you take that off you will see a cam shaft. You take the cam sprocket off and put the points behind the cam sprocket. Very important you do not let the cam sprocket fall down into the motor or loose the timing of your bike. You must keep the timing chain taught at all times not letting it fall off a sprocket tooth and loose the timing. Good luck with your project i am going to convert my klt probbaly in the near future.

Sir, If you try to put the points behind the cam sprocket it will not work! The points cannot run in oil! You will have to get a different cam and head to change the machine from CDI to Points! Sorry to break your bubble!

I have a klt200 I bought the otehr day, but I think she is going to be a cadaver bike, "parts bike" for someone who needs parts, she is 85% complete, I also got a KAWASAKI 250 PRARIE for parts. She needs a airbox,cdi,and keyed ignitions switch. But I think I am going to part them out...Wish I had a good running klt250 PRARIE....That trike is smoothe feeling like it would ride like a CADALLIAC.
Hi the 200 klt you picked up the other day. Does that have the cdi to it?
I have a project I have been working on for my kids, I got a 1981 klt 200 engine and some wiring which we have not been able to figure out, not sure its all there either, its a CDI version with electric start and reverse. Engine is in great condition, I hate to not try and make it work just because of wiring. would you please be willing to email me a copy of the diagram if possible! I have one diagram, but its for a points version without electric start. Thank You very much!!!!!
