    will a 250x motor fit on a '86 200x?

I maybe trading my car for a 250x and a Chevy blazer. I have been wanting a 200x or an R for a while and I though, gee I wonder if that engine from the 250x will fit on an 86 200x since it has a little more room in the frame for 6 gears. So whats the verdict?

I dont think that a 250x will have much power over a 200x if any, plus it would be cheaper to just get a 200x or 200x motor. Just because something is a 6 speed doesnt neccesarilly mean the bottom half of the engine is bigger. But back to your original question, yes it can be done I have seen one in Dirtwheels readers rides.

The 250SX is shaft driven and the 200x is chain. So unless you added the sx rear end to it you would have to change the final drive somehow.Either way, you are looking at a lot of work but some of the other parts may be interchangable.Try the top end.

The 250x is basically the first 300ex. I think they were made from 88-92,and they were kickstart.
