I got my cylinder and head back from ftz racing for my yamaha 175 tri moto. They did an mx port job, bored the cylinder, and shaved and polished the head. The exhaust port is polished mirror smooth. You cant see it well in the pictures. Looks Like great work But, will let you know once it is running. That is the true test. Also had them put a new rod on the crankshaft. Glenn Oister

the only thing that really bugs me about mine is that the mailman dropped the DG head and kinda bent one of the fins alittle. I polished my intake and exhaust, but not that nice! I also would like to upgrade the front suspension with one of those kits that were available.
Think a tri z axle would fit in the 'moto carrier?? anyone ever try it?? I guess I could go out to the garage and try it myself! I think I still have another carrier for the 125/175 laying around.

Looks awesome...I had the same machine and had the same work done to it...it hauled! Even with me on it and I'm on the heavier side...couldn't imagine how quick it would have been with a lighter guy on it. Post pictures of it when it's back together.

Thanks for all the positive comments. I will post another picture when I get it back together and in the trike. I will also let you know how much of a difference it made. I know some people would say its nuts putting that kind of money in an old 175. But I love that old 175 and it ran damm hard before I had the work done. Guess I am just old school. Glenn

I don't think it's nuts putting money into old bikes I'm with all the way on that one.. When you buy a new 4 wheeler for thousands you will never get your money back. Interest alone is more than what you just put into your trike let alone paying it down. New wheels depreciate more than what we put into our trikes. To me its also a sense of satisfaction fixing them up and let alone riding it. These trikes are getting 20 years old, You can't replace the feeling of how someone admires a trike that looks brand new. I know I drool over the quality of some rebuilds on here, nothing but admiration for these guys. Anybody can buy a new one only a chosen few can rebuild them. I just wish I could see more yamahas as thats what I'm fixing up now.Originally Posted by bushwacker51

Evere get this thing back togther? what kinda improvements did it make and how much was it? can you find out the specific specs of the port job, how much the raised the exuast and what not..?

Yes I got it back together. I also have been running it. It has made it the trike a littleslugish on the bottom end if your just putting around. But when you get into the pipe it screams. It made it run much much harder. I am not sure on the specs on the cylinder port. I just told them I wanted it to run harder and liked to mx ride with the trike. I am very happy with the way it runs. I love my 175 tri moto. IF the motor ever blows guess ill try putting a blaster motor in it.
