    2 & 4 cycles

what are the advanteges of a 2stroke. the only thing that i know they have 2 times more power strokes than 4 cycle for more acceleration. is there rely anything that is better about 2 cycles?

2 strokes wear out fast...4 strokes will run a long time with out needed a bore job.

2 strokes have a higher power to weight ratio. they roughly make about twice as much hp as the same size (cc) thumper
they can run at any angle, a 4 stroke has to be fairly level to get the proper oil control
and like he said ^^ the 4 strokes last longer
2 strokes are more harmful to the environment also

Excellent point, no camshafts to dick around with-thats my favourite part of a 2 stroke other than the smell and sound!

A lot more moving parts in a 4-stroke, but overall the 4-stroke is much more reliable than a 2-stroke. I've heard that a 2-stroke should be rebuilt, or at least gone through throughly about every 5 years or so depending on how hard you ride it.
