I just recently purchased a 1986 250SX. Well when i bought it had no battery. I figured no problem go to honda pickup a $60 battery reattach cables and i would be fine. Well when i go to attach the main cables, I'm getting a lot of sparking enough so that i can't even connect the wires. Its like i am connecting the positive to the negative. I am attaching the wire that is connected to the starter to the positive and the other one that is just bolted into the motor to the negative. Is there anyone who knows what could be going on. I did get my lights working when i connected the smaller red wire with the fuse box to the positive and the green wire to the negative. Any help with would be appreciated.
