200S decompression slot in starter cover

I'm not using the decompression device and have no cable. Where the cable slides through the starter recoil casing there is a slot that excepts the rubber boot thats on the cable to make it water tight. I don't have that boot.

Anyone know of something that would fit in the slot nicely? I don't just want to tape it up. Got to be something out there that fits in correctly.

hmmm... maybe a decompression cable? Bet that would fit in there perfectly!

    (I couldn't resist)

Try an autoparts store for the little rubber plugs that go in car doors interiors etc.

    Good idea Mr. Wise Guy

Hardly anyone uses the auto compression on them so I figured by now someone should have the perfect plug for it. Dumb to have the cable on if the unit isn't functional.

I'll have to see if I can find an exact fit plug, then sell them at what they cost me to a few memebers that like a sayno, water tight seal.

The rubber plugs that would close off the adjustment hole in a rear break drum on a truck may work.

i was thinkin of making some kind of decompresion cable..like on the chokes u pull out on b.r.'s and stuff..attatch it to the pull thingy and then to the engine where it goes on the head..whenever u pull it it will put the decompression on and then when u pull the starter it will shut it off..like a decompression cable! lol..sounds easy but prolly a pain in the ass
