    Paddle tire size!!

I am rebuilding my 85' 350x up to be a sand bike. I have a set of geckos and tried them out but they were just not hooking up for me? I really like the idea of buying a set of haulers. I would prefer a 8in wheel! What size of paddle tire should i run??? Any suggestions would be great!

what kind of "HOOK UP" are you looking for...seems like the geckos should work fine...

try tweeking the air pressure to get more bite and less spin....

really no sense in dropping another 200 bucks for new shoes when you really wont notice much difference

its all in your weight and the tire pressure.....

get out in the dunes and fine tune.....

i run sand skates II on 10 inch rims and i weigh about 220lbs....

i run them from about 10 to 15 lbs of air and im happy with them

putting a comp cut your geckos would lighten them up but good luck in finding someone to do it....

try extreme haulers( the lightest out there) 10 paddle , and if your motor can handle it, go to a 25 inch

I agree with , play with your tire pressure. I run Sand Skate IIs with 8" rims on my 350X, and they hook up to my satisfaction. A paddle tire is more of a propellar than a tire, I was suprised when I figured out that sometimes more air made them hook up more.

I RUN 20/11/8'S i have both sand skate II's and sand stars ,,, they both work great on the 350x,,, i run about 4 to 6 psi,,,, if your going to be sand only a 2 to 4 " longer swingarm will help like crazy on the hills ... 350x's are a blast in the sand.... i haven't seen many people who are happy with geckos,,,,,
