I think the BMX ones are smaller, but that is just from what I have seen. I have the same Maier plate on my 83R, its ok, but its no UFO! It is funny how the numberplate is now the part to go "ga-ga" over. First is was the holy Cal-Fab, then the christ like wescoast, now the holy grail, the number plate!!

I like a number plate as much as the next person. But I'm with Nickg, this number plate stuff is getting way out of hand. There really isn't alot to one of those plates, and they are going for hundreds of dollars. Alot of the new ones you see on Ebay have stress cracks around the rivets.

dude, they were 9.99 each then. I will just go over to the local bike shop(where I used to get them) ,buy the 15 they have in the back and see you $60 with a sale 12.95 each . there is a point where making $ is ok...$52.50 each profit is waaayyy outa control, especially seeing that you can get them if you open your eyes and look...heck if you can sell them for that, I wil have them remade by maier and STILL under sell you by $30 and have all the colors, I would think that maybe you should have not said what they cost you, simple foot in mouth syndrome. trike', Maier made the ones sold by most bmx shops under several brands such as zeronine. they were pretty much the guys for these(aside from ufo)

That's what I was going to say. There were only around $10 when they were brand new back in the day.

Watch the name calling in this post. It's showing signs of spiraling toward a lockdown.

I'd like to have a red and/or a green one. I like that style of the white one someone posted earlier and dont have one like that. but not at $60 each. drop me a pm with your best price and pics if ya got em.

Also, i've got a few extra petty numbers I can part with. In fact, let me trade you some numbers for your new plate for a plate for me!!

The bmx plates are way smaller, they are not the same!

guys see the trend here? I told you guys for a long time about those tank covers, trust me on this. when guys come on and GOUGE THE CRAP on these, think. These parts are still around, I think that maier still even makes them in one shape or another. alot of the parts are arounsd in place near you, you just have to look. don't think they are all gone, because they aren't. Guys like this one are taking advantage of people not knowing

depends on what size you bought, I know, that is where I bought mine when I raced trikes. having been big into bmx before atv's, I have bought say 100 or more of them. I always used the large square, vented ones for the redline bars i ran

Look, some of you guys need to back off some. Dang. The guy finds a stockpile of hard to find stuff ( number plates ). With alot of your theories on original pricing, I should be able to get a complete speedo set up for my 350X for cheap. Hell no. They go for well over $150+. Give me a break. If the guy wants to make some money off them who cares. If you want one, pony up. If you dont or dont like the price, step off. No need to slam or rip a guy for this. I personally wouldnt want one if they were free. I dont like them. But if I did, $60 bucks isnt too bad compared to what they go for on Ebay. Last one I saw the other day was up well over $100. With some of your theories on pricing, a old Shelby Cobra should only be worth $8000. Hell thats what they sold for new. Try $100,000. Some things increase in value as they become old & scarce. After all these are original old school stuff. Not remans.Give me a break.
