    Talking IRS trike

has anyone know of or tried installing idependant rear suspension on a shaft trike? i know of a sx that is rough and would make a good project. i need clearance to get around in the trails around here.i ride with quads with 8-12 " of clearance so i get hung up once and a while. with IRS i would be blow alot of minds at the derbys and such.what do you think?

That would be an awesome project. You could even take the front end from an old 4x4 and use the differential, shafts, and A-arms!

if i can make this happen on a trike ...the honda foreman guys will be lookin!! i got a bud who bought a 05 500 foreman. cool quad and he gave it a 2"lift. but he has a solid differential at the rear.and other than incresing tire diameter that's all the added real clearance you'll get.he doesn't really have that much more clearance than i do on the trike.i am workng on the sx right now and i was looking at the rear diff. i was dreaming of shortening the axles and installing u-joints , from there shafts and another u-joint. it would be extreamly tippy but a sway bar might solve that problem.i have a really good friend who owns a machine shop, i think he'll come in handy.
