A Concept for anyone with $ and parts.

I was just looking at a " Dirt Bike " magazine and they had a feature on the yamaha 2 wheel drive dirt bike... !!!!!

The front wheel is hydraulic driven, and a sensor detects when the rear wheel is loosing traction, diverts power to the hydraulic pump and the front wheel pulls.

I think this would be ideal on a trike.. has the room for the pump and lines, and the minor weight added to the front would be quickly offset by the bonus of 3 wheel drive !!

I wish i had enough money and resouces to do it !...
    Currently :

impossible to drive? if any thing i think it would make it alot easier to drive espeacialy in snow and mud. It would like a car with front wheel drive, alot easier to drive in them situations then one with rear wheel drive.

with one front tire you have nothing to counter act. if you turn the front wheel it will slide. ok let me put this in simple terms. have you ever rode a big wheel when you were a kid. if you turned and pedaled at the same time it did not work that well. also on my 250r, 350x or even my 200m i spin the back wheels often, well if you went into a controled slide with your front wheel driving like your rear that would be horrible.

lol the reason you slide on a big wheel when you turn is because of the plastic front tire. and they are hard to trun and pedal is because it puts your legs in an acward position. but i dont know i dont see why it wouldnt work. But i may be wrong. it would have its advantages and disidvantages aswell. Like it would be hard if not imposable to do doughnuts with with the front tire pulling. but i also think it would help out a lot in them situations when its slipery and you turn and you keep going straight the front tire would be pulling you in the direction you want to go in. Like a front wheel drive car

I saw an ad on ebay once that suzuki supposedly made. It showed a pic. of a trike thats was going to be a 1988 model, and it was 3 wheel drive! IDK how legit it was (the brochure and the seller) but it all looked to be real. some please correct me if i am wrong on this, but i know for sure i saw it, and it was a "3 x 3" trike

Most of the time when I ride my trike the front wheel isn't toughing the ground anyway. How about just mounting a 250R motor to the front fender? Sit it on a rack from a big red, install one of those new auto-clutches in the motor (see curent Dirtwheels), run a chain down to the wheel, rig it up to a twist throttle (in addition to your existing thumb throttle for the main motor) and there you have it- Massive front wheel power on demand.

yea lol..try doin that on a big red..really slow till u hit the gas on the r motor and put too much speed on the rear wheels causing u to blow trailprotrailpro engine..lol..funny but no thanks..although it would be great for drags!! all 3 wheels spinning would give u a helluva takeoff..and then just pop trailprotrailpro br in neutral while the front r engine is spinnin like a mofo givin u 70 mph on a BIG RED!!! lol..ok maybe it wont happen but u get the idea..i thouhgt about mounting a little chainsaw motor to the front of my 185 and makin it chain driven..that would be pretty cool..10k rpm's of massive little power to the front wheel..lol
