I bought my motor from a member on eBay. It was $65.00 for shipping from Cali to Michigan.
Do just what Howdy said. Go to www.ups.com or www.usps.com, etc. and punch in the numbers.
Mine was shipped in a big card board box with another big card board box inside of that one (in other words, just double box it) and lots of packing materials. It arrived with no damage at all.
Oh yeah, drain every last drop of oil and fluids, then put it in a big, thick garbage bag before you box it up. If stuff starts to leak out of the box, the driver(s) might refuse to ship it because they have no way of knowing if it is a hazardous material or not and it might get returned to you or even worse, they'll make you come and get it.

i paid 35 for a kx250 motor to michigan from ny, and i think it was 55 from ny to cali for my yz250 motor...

If its under 70 lbs, it will be quite a bit cheaper. A 125M motor cost me $28 to ship. See if you can find a big rubber maid tub to ship it in. Wrap it in some old egg crate foam or something, then put it in the tub and get it secured. Wrap the tub in duct tape real good and it will be good to go.

I paid 40 something for a aircooled R motor from NY to WA.. And I paid 30 something to ship a liquid R motor from NY to TN. I am shipping a 250SX motor out today or tomorrow from NY to MN, I was quoted $90 from UPS, of course 250SX motors are HEAVY.
