    checking valves

    Can any one give me some instructions on how to check my valves 84 200s. Im on my 3rd cam, what can be the problem? I have clymer but I dont always understand what its saying nor do I have all the tools they ask for. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    Your cam journals might be worn out, is there play in the cam ? is your timing chain tight as well ?

    things to consider i guess.
    Currently :

    82 ATC - 200, plain jane, almost mint. ( Sold, 03-17-2005)
    84 ATC - 200 ES, Jimmy-Rigged, don't ask.( Sold, 03-17-2005)
    85 ATC - 250 SX, Pride and Joy, Bottom-Less Money Pit.
    84 125 M - The Mini-SX not running yet. but won't be long.

    What part of your cam is wearing out?? Lobes, journals?? Are the rockers and shafts getting oil and up to spec, are they adjusted to tight?? Is the valve binding in the guide??

    The cam lobes are wearing I am going to check the valves the cam chain seems fine. Timing is perfect.
