    Help time!

    Hi please see pics attached

What can i do with this crack? and what problems can it cause being left?

    ------------------------------

Is this fine being held on with this cable tie? or should i buy a spring if so what size?

    ------------------------------

what size bolt goes in here?

    ------------------------------

The kick start lever stays down when trying to kick the bike to start... i can pull it out a few cms then back, its on the shaft fine but like the shaft is loose inside the tranny? i dont know much about the tranny so dont know what could be wrong, also 2nd gear is juddery, 1st. 3rd. 4th. 5th is fine. also 3rd keeps trying to pull wheelies! whys this? my 82r doesnt do this..

also my tank is bad on the outside looks terrible. loads of dings and dents and scrathes. what can i do for this?

also the previous owner carved his zip code in to some palces. how can i get this of?

also the thumb throttle sticks. which is dangerous. the wire coming out of it (clutch cable i think) gets stuck when you pull throttle in... then when letting go it just sticks...

i only got it today and i cant even get it started because of the kick start and that the tank could fall off....

    please help!

350X'inNY -->> is the crack the bracket that holds the clutch cable?

    ------------------------------

Is this fine being held on with this cable tie? or should i buy a spring if so what size?

350X'inNY --> I'd say no.... the correct spring is still available form HONDA p/n 18332-430-700

    ------------------------------

what size bolt goes in here?

350X'inNY -->> this is a 81R right? Bolt - 90105-961-000 Feeds in from the "Left" side. Rubber gromment goes over the head for the rear fenders. Nut for the right side.... 90301-961-000. I think this is different from the schematic than how my 82R works.

    ------------------------------

The kick start lever stays down when trying to kick the bike to start... i can pull it out a few cms then back, its on the shaft fine but like the shaft is loose inside the tranny?

350X'inNY -->> There's a return spring type mechanism INSIDE the motor that must be broke.

i dont know much about the tranny so dont know what could be wrong, also 2nd gear is juddery, 1st. 3rd. 4th. 5th is fine. also 3rd keeps trying to pull wheelies! whys this? my 82r doesnt do this..

350X'inNY -->> I'd check difference in gearing and question if your clutch is adjusted right if you can't wheelie in 3rd on your 82R. Mine pulls the tire in 4th if I'm not careful! haha

also my tank is bad on the outside looks terrible. loads of dings and dents and scrathes. what can i do for this?

350X'inNY -->> Get a new tank.... IMS Plastic works good on my R.

also the previous owner carved his zip code in to some palces. how can i get this of?

350X'inNY -->> Why??? Think of it as extra protection if it's stolen. Got to becareful of crooks and scammers these days.

also the thumb throttle sticks. which is dangerous. the wire coming out of it (clutch cable i think) gets stuck when you pull throttle in... then when letting go it just sticks...

350X'inNY -->> Ummm... the clutch cable would run from the clutch lever. The throttle cable is the thing coming out of the thumb throttle! Replace it. Under $15 from Motion Pro. Love it!

i only got it today and i cant even get it started because of the kick start and that the tank could fall off....

    please help!
See my comments inside the quote..... again, I'd use it as a parts machine unless you got it cheap!

Are you smoking Crack? (pun intended). There is a big chunk missing out of the inner case. You should cover that up with something to keep water/dirt out of the stator. That bike also looks like it has bent forks. With all the problems you know about and the others I am sure you'll find I wouldn't bother trying to fix it.

Now that I believe is a 3ww first. The gas tank being held on with a wood drill bit...That, my friends, is first class cobbing.

That is definately a parts machine, unless you have alot of time and money to fix or restore it. In its condition,it doesnt look safe to ride.
Better to sell it or part it out and put the $$$ towards something better.

I was talking about the rubber vibration piece on the cylinder head. Needs to be moved "back" about an inch (2.54cm for you) to the groove in the cooling fins.

Now if the case is "cracked" open plus with the tranny problems, I'd have to at least just find another bottom end; that is if I didn't just use it as a parts trike.

Yes... something is messed with the front end... either forks or the front fender is cracked down and fork boots ripped open.

Did you figure out if it has rear drum or rear disc brakes yet? Pretty sure it has drums, as the gas tank mopunting looks 81R and the front rotor has no drilled holes in it. (81R's didn't have drilled rotor)

PS - Todd.... I got the package tonight. Had to go sign for it at the Post Office.
