    worn bearing question !

Can worn swing arm and rear end bearings effect the tranny in any way on a shaft drive machine ?

what i'm getting at is that my SX's swing arm bearings are worn, not totally shot mind you, but when you hit the gas, you can feel play in the left footpeg and if you jack it up. the swinger has side play. When i shift under load, specially in deep snow, it won't engage cleanly, and sometimes ends up between gears !!

I've replaced a few parts behind the left case cover, shift stopper arm, and a few stopper bolts ( don't know the term . sorry ) if any of you remember the URGENT HELP ME thread. The action of the shifter is good, but it don't engage the way i would like it to !

    any relation ?

Sounds more like the return springs that are in the right side behind the clutch (not in the trans though). I would replace #s 25, 20, 17 it is about $13 total from bikebandit. I have had a few trikes that would go into a false neutral between gears sometimes, or not return on downshifts right, after replacing the springs it was fixed.

17 on that is good for sure, cuz i replaced 16, 8 and 21 a few weeks ago and had to put that spring back in .. it has LOTS of tension !! LOL... but this was on the left side ( sitting on the trike ) .

So, 20 and 25 are the clutch side eh.... will give me a chance to check my clutch plates at the same time.... will need to aquire gaskets while i'm at it.

They should all be on the same side. Sorry I have never had a 250sx apart and just assumed they were on the right side like most other machines. I am not sure how strong they are supposed to be that is why I just replaced all of them. For once new parts were actually cheaper then I thought they would be (don't tell Honda).
