HELP!! please post a pic of your DG silencer....if its on an 83 R

hey....
i have a DG silencer on my 83 R and i have a feeling its not right. i cant find any good pics so i need your help.......it has a "bracket" welded to the top of the silencer, and there are no bolt holes on the fram where it could be attached.....is it supposed to or what???? the mounting tab on the bottom matches up perfectly btw...thanks

My dg for the Z didn't mount worth a crap either. had to play with it alittle.

thats because you are missing the rubber/ metal mount, its about two inches long with two holes

i have an 83R with a DG pipe and silencer on it, and i have NEVER had any bolts through the bracket on top.. The one connector midway that has a rubber peice from the frame to the silencer is attached, but not the one on top. That thing is not going anywhere, never has, and its been through some crazy rides. but i attached a few pics anyway, hope this helps.

thanks...this helps alot. does any body have a side view pic so i can get a better look??...i still have a funny feeling i have the wrong silencer

BTW..azhondagrl: i saw your R on the "Where are the old R pics?" (idk if thats the correct thread name...) and i love that seat cover you got. is that custom or did you get it through a manufacturer?....if you did but it through a CO. how long ago?..thanks

hey dude i posted a few others..... Oh and the seat cover, i got when i was working for my fiance's dad, he does custom upholstery. He did mywifeknowseverythin's seat, and a seat for someone else from ORG(waitn4mudd). I think i've had that on their now for.....like 4 or 5 months. If you're interested, let me know on that, too!

i have been trying for awhile to find a nice exhaust for my 83r. if yall have any leads let me know. dennis kirk said they had a dg, but when they sent it out it wasnt even close. it sure fit the 85r well.i called them and they swore up and down that was the right one.

if you goto www.dgperf.com and go up to products, they have the 83-84 pipe for sale brand new on there. It's like 189, and i think thats about what I paid for mine in a store here.

83-84 for sure mounts out the left side and 85 and on mounts out right side. i want a fatty pipe "chrome" every one that i find comes out the right side. it seems like anything 84 or earlier you cant find parts very easy but again they are 21 yr old.
