what color to powder coat my 200s frame?

I'm restoring an '84 200s and am going to have the frame powder coated. What color is good? I could go simple black like stock, but I was thining of doing something a little more exciting. I don't want it to look cheesy.

If anyone did a different color on theirs, show me some pictures.

You chipping in for that??? maybe we should just gold plate it!!

I like Honda red....but have to see what the price difference is between that and black. Luckily I've got connections and the cost is pretty cheap, but black might end up being the best way to go.

How hard is it to match honda red? The guy who's doing the pc is giving me a deal, so any 'extra' work is going to raise the price. Is honda red a standard color?

I think black IS the best way to go the more I think about it. Painting it a different color might even lower the value of it some what but that doesn't matter cause you'll never sell it, right?. Well, except to me that is!

are u restoring for an original look? or custom look? thats the question if its original you know what color too do, but custom i would suggest "yellow" or "gun metal grey" with metal flake that would be tight.

I honestly don't care about original condition. I just want it to look clean and well taken care of, maybe a little exciting. But not hokey, like a purple or whatever weird color combos out of the early '90s--anyone remember the TUF Racing catalogs for bike plastics? Glad those days are behind us!

Good call on the gun metal gray. That's a darker gray, right? I sort of like that because it's neutral, yet very slick and clean looking.

Yellow can't get into but the gun metal gray an EXCELLENT choice!! I did a 250R in that and looked great.

2 thoughts here on that color. You can go with the gun metal and it will contrast the motor just enough to show it off but the rear framing might not show as well (being on the dark side of the spectrum) so you could always go a bit lighter like this color which will look great with motor too but not quite as much contrast as the GMG.

OR do a taper job with gun metal gradully turning into this color toward the back then you have the best of both!! Just a dumb crazy idea I had.
