200S head & cam deal MX 600 got.

A few days ago we had talked about what heads fit on an 84 200S and because of that MX 600 picked this up for mere pennies (well almost) I'd say.

He told me he was hoping to get it for 25.00!!!! and I laughed while I was reading his email. He wasn't far off at all though! That buzzard!

I'm really happy for him because I thought it would of went well over that and be more likely to hover around the $100 mark at least.

I'd say the buyer lost out on this one. Wonder why he didn't put a reserve on it?

As a seller I would of wanted at the very lowest 75.00 and even that seems like a steal to me. Am I wrong? Being that these parts get harder & harder to find is how I base my judgement on what they will go for + these items (that he bought) are exceptionally clean.

Sure the parts are getting harder to find but aren't all used parts? I wouldn’t pay over $50 for a head. Sure they are an important piece but they don't wear out as fast as other parts generally so there are a lot of them around. The head that MX picked up does look nice and clean though, still a good buy.

For a head with all the guts in it you wouldn't pay over 50?

Are those/most engine parts discontinued? I find myself always watching ebay for used parts. I doesn't hurt to have some spares lying around.

yeah, I got a good deal. I'm pretty happy with it, and hopefully it'll be as good as it looks in the pictures.

If anyone's interested I'll sell my old 200s head, including valves and cam for $25. Dont' worry about the worn journals, you can JB weld them back to original condition!!!

So...is an hour worth $25 or not? That's the real question.

I'm quite sure you can still get them. a new head listed for 350+ and a cam was 65+. That's why 30 smackers is mere pennies to me. Now that 350 is JUST the bare head! No valves, guides, springs or anything in it.
