hey, thanks, I had a buddy stop by today and look at the whole mess, and he is under the impression that the coil is toast, same as I thought. after testing it a bunch of different ways, it seemed as if there was no wire in there at all, towards the actual coil, and sure enough it was all rusted and broken. I need a coil, but I will certainly keep that diagram! BTW, it seems that i have a black coil wire that connects to a black and white spotted one out of the CDI box. When testing power to that wierd orange wire, no reading. wierd.

Aside of the Orange Coil wire,I have a black wire and a black/ white stripe wire coming from my CDI, along with the three wire plug. Since i'm not running lights on this bike, I was able to just ground the black one and run my tether switch off the black/white stripe one.
