    rings seating

I was just curious if rings will seat again after a jug is pulled off? I was thinking if motor has no hone markings left it wouldn't, but if a fairly recent hone job was done it would.

i would give it a quick honing before reassembly. and do a proper break in. when got runnung take her out and ride. bring rpm's down for a bit then let her scream for a few seconds then back down and run the rpm's all over the place for hour or so. dump the oil and replace with new and giver.

they will break in eventually...but its a pain in the backside.....just run a hone throgh the cylinder(cant stand usin the word "jug" its a cylinder not a "jug") you can pick one up for cheap at the local auto parts store, under Ball hone, or a brake hone works good too and put a new set of rings in while your at it...so they will seat properly, always put new rings in once you have had the top end off...so they break in properly, rings have a special softer coating on the outside of them when new for break in with the cylinder.....with old rings it dosnt have it and will not work as nice....
