One time about 3 years ago i was out riding my suzuki 160 quad about 2 miles from the house and the front left axle broke. I had to drive it home, down a busy road while sitting on the one tire ( i sat it on the seat so i could carry it) and driving on the other 3 good tires. People were lookin at me like i was stupid. But hey i got it home!

just the other day on my kawi 160 I was ridng home and it lost fire. I pushed it about a km and called my dad from some random ladies house. One of the wires from the stator had come loose so it was an easy fix.

    Here's a good one:
A few years back some friends and I were riding up in Hazleton. We were about 20 miles away from camp, and my buddy blew the trans in his quadracer. Locked up tight, something broke in the countershaft and the wheels wouldn't turn. Wh had no tools or tow strap and a bad storm was rollin' in. One of the guys rode with me to find a tow strap while the others stayed behind to try and find a tool or something to get the chain off. I found an old junkyard where I was able to scrounge up part of a lifting sling to use as a tow strap. When we got back the skies were getting real dark and wind was blowin' like crazy. The other guys managed to find some hicks in a pickup truck and borrowed a chintzy azz screwdriver to pop the master link off. As I rigged his quadracer up to my old 300EX (man this is goin way back), and began to drag his hunk of scrap metal over some seriously rough terrain, it started to pour buckets, I mean some of the heaviest rain I have ever seen. Wind had to be blowing at 50+ mph! Just before we got to the part where we had crossed the interstate (yeah, we used to ride right across a 4 lane interstate hiway), it began to hail like crazy, stinging us with the force of a thousand killer bees. I could barely see if cars were coming. Leaned way over the bars and slipped out the clutch easy as I came up the embankment onto the hiway, ended up riding a wheelie clear across 81 with the quadracer in tow. A short time after we crossed the hiway, we found an abandoned garage, rode in and built a barrel fire to warm up. As we sat there, this dude walked into the garage out of mowhere. Turned out to be the crazy goat boy from East Coast ATV. He asked if we could help him get his trike to the garage because it had broken in half! I rode him up the trail to where the trike was (an atc125M), and sure enough motor mount bolts were gone and the frame snapped. I towed it back while he walked alongside it and held it together. Then came the strangest thing I have ever seen. This dude went ravaging thru a trash pile and pulled out some small wooden sticks and a length of wire, propped the trike back up, jammed the sticks thru the motor mount holes, wired it together, and rode off into the distance. Just thought I would share my little story with you guys. It was one of my most memorable riding trips.

Had a minor wipe out on the R a few months ago. Thought I broke something on impact but it turned out to be just a really deep bruise. In the process though the R fouled a plug. I always carry a spare plug (two actually) and this time was no exception. But, I was out there jetting that day and the wrench was sitting on the hood my truck. Had to push the damn thing back in the desert sun with no water. It wasn't all that far. Maybe a mile and half. But a mile and a half in the desert and in a good amount of pain is not very pleasant.

Nobody was around for miles either. Good thing I wasn't even further away from the truck or hurt more seriously.

I was riding on my 200X with my buddy on my ATC 110 on some logging trails in upper WI. We were having a pretty good day and rode out about 15 miles into the middle of land my friend swore was open to public use by the logging company. It had rained pretty good two days before and it was a real sandy area. We came across a large part of flooded road that looked shallow to me. I went low and my buddy went high......When I went low it was like falling into a lake....the bike went under. I pushed the trike out took the spark plug out of the engine, rung the crap out of the air filter, and let the bike drain on its end for a while. I kicked and kicked water out of the trike until no water came out. Needless to say I couldn't get her started. So we strapped her up to my ATC110 my buddy was riding and put it in low. We finally got back to the main rode where we encounter a sheriff and an angry land owner. We got tresspassing tickets and operating an ORV on a county highway tickets totaling $585. BE CARFUL WHEN CROSSING WATER AND NEVER TRESSPASS.

That is some F***** B.S. that the guy pressed charges. If it was my land I would have got your names and gave you a warning. I hate people that are dicks when it comes to stuff like that. Its not like you were hurting his land by riding on logging trails.

Afew yaers ago me and a friend were riding in wiskey creek mi he had aa 87 kawasaki bayou 300 quad I had my faithful suzuki ts 185 with a fresh set of rings any way we jumped in his truck went out there and took off we got goin and after awhile he stopped because he was dragging a big stick. but when he jumped back on it wouldn't start back up the starte wouldn't turn on so he said he would push it. after about ten feet he decided it wsan't happening. He asked if i could pull him, i said sure i'll try so we tied him to my two wheeler after about a half mile of a constant wheelie i sat right on the tank and told him to stomp it in gear, he said it wouldn't work because its a auto clutch but he did it and it roared to life so we unhooked and went some more. after awhile my coil mounts loosened up and my bike died he said he would go and find out where the trail went. So i sat there trying to get the coil fixed and i did so i set out to follow his tracks. after a mile or so my bike died but it wasn't the coil the plug wire cracked and was arcing to the frame. time to push atleast a bike pushes easy. after a while he found me again and as he stopped his quad died. Oh no i told him to give me some tools and i got my coil turned around so it didn't arc and i pull started him again. we headed back to the truck and went home. That ride sucked. it turns out the saftey switch crapped out and turned of power to the started because it thought it was in gear

Went riding with a few friends... i was on the 200 ES, my friend had an M and my neighbot on the quad.

The M's chain was wayyyy to loose, he managed to get the chain to jump and wedge itself between the rear sproket and the frame, and it would NOT budge.

After a few hours of screwing around with it, we finally decided to just drag the thing to the nearest road and get it with the truck.. tied it to quad and he walked alongside it.

After a few hundred feet of dragging, he lifted the rear end and dropped it and miraculously the chain released..

another hour and we had it hooked up again and rode home veerrrrry slowly that chain was messed up royally !

Numerous occassions and machines have done me in....

1984 YZ80 - the needle jet clip fell out and I walked about 5 miles home.

1981 RM125 - master link came off, broke the motor and walked about 2 miles home.

250SX - Just had to paint the throttle, didn't I? Dam locking tab in the throttle let the nut come off so I lost the thumb to cable point. Had to yank on the cable to muster about 1/4 throttle for a few miles but I did get home that time.

1985 250R - fouled plug had me walk a few miles but at least it was lighter than the SX.

1994 CR250 - worst of all... Stuck throttle over a double jump caused the bike to launch about 200 ft away from me. Broken exhaust, subframe, fender, number plate, master cylinder, bent bars and me a broken tail bone. Rode it home and got stopped by the environmental police. He saw how bad I was and the bike and let me go...

, Oh, you don't know how right you are - you really shouldn't ride wheelies for any sort of distance on a wet sump motor.

On my very first real ride on the just-bought 185s it was broiling hot weather in mid-summer. I rode into the woods about five miles and came to a place where a skidder (a massive logging machine) had created ruts in the road that were about four feet deep and four feet wide and which had filled completely with water. There was only a few feet in between each rut but I figured the trike would fit down the middle of them. WRONG!
Flipped the trike into one of the ruts at one of the deepest places. I landed on my back with the 271 lb dry weight trike with assorted equipment strapped on the racks right on top of me. I thought i was gonna drown, but I heaved the machine off me using my legs. I was drenched in muck, my cell phone was wrecked and the machine was stuck in one of these massive ruts. After dragging it out of the hole I was exhausted, and I mean totally exhausted, and the trike would not start.
I started pushing it back towards the car in the blistering hot sun, a few feet at a time. Thank heavens I had a full cooler, at least.
When I came to the big dip in the road I knew I wouldn't have the strength to push it uphill on the other side of the dip, I was completely spent. So I pushed it with all my might down the downhill side of the dip, hopped on it, and kicked it into gear while praying with all my might.
The thing kicked into life and I made it back to my car and trailer.
The moral of the story: don't be an idiot while riding alone. I think that was the most exhausted I ever was in my life.

Ok, this embarrassing but I'll tell the story...........
    - keep in mind I never owned a 3 wheeler before -
I had just bought the 84' 200es (now my wifes trike) and on the first ride I got about 1/2 from the truck and it just died.
I made sure the petcock was "on" and it had spark and everything. I cleaned the plug and put it back in.....nothing.
I pushed it all the way back to the truck and when I was pushing it up the loading ramp I noticed the gas cap was in the "off" position .
I turned it to "on" and low and behold it started and ran fine.
So there's my "DUH" story.......tell me how tarded I am..

well one of my first real times taking a trike out through fields with my buddy, he was riding a yamaha 125 trike and I was on my ATC90 with Balloon tires. He never had a whole lot of experience with riding either so his had the yamalube system on it where the oil is in one tank and the gas in the other for auto mixing. Well he relied on that and while out riding about 1 mile from home his pump went bad and his motor locked up. So we used my 90 in low and towed him back and then I went out for another ride. So I am out cruising throught this field on the edge of the woods and then bam my back right tires goes completly flat, I snagged a broken branch which cut a hole in the side about 6 inchs long. So luckily a friend comes along on his yamaha 125 dirtbike and I send him for some help, so about a half hour later here comes my friend in a borrowed minivan for my trike so we loaded it up and headed out to get it patched.

A few weeks ago me and a group of friends decided to go riding well I always let my girl drive my 200s, cause it is super reliable and very good condition so the only thing that I had to ride was a newly aquired 200m which the only thing I had done to it since I got it was strip the tank down to fix and paint, so I hurried up and patch a couple leaks in the tank and cleaned the carb and said lets go well we started riding and where we were riding you have to drive up about a 35-40 degree incline and into the woods. So we are out playing having fun when first I start having problems downshifting so I am kinda putting since it wont let me shift right and my chain is really loose. Well I keep messing with the shifter when it slips and wont grab the shaft anymore, so I am like ok well I will drive back to my buddys garage and fix it so I start to head down the about 300 ft of 30 degree incline before the steep part and I realize I dont have brakes so I am like Sh**. Well I will just keep it in first and put down and if need be shut if off to slow me down well about 150 feet down my chain lets go and slings into the motor jamming itself but luckily doesnt brake anything. So here I am in the trees(used them to slow me down) Cant get the chain unjammed so I start rolling it down essentialy going side to side as much as I can to keep it from going to fast. Well I got it to the steep part with only flipping it once. Then comes the real fun So I begin my decent down the steep part and the hardest part is about half way down the trail makes a hard right cause there is a big tree right there so I am not even sure how but I managed to work it to that tree and then I got it around it and just coasted down the rest which was still pretty interesting cause I was moving off of that hill fast as hell and when I got to where it turned slightly onto black top it started waving all over to the point I thought I was going to flip. Moral of the story know your machine better before you hit the hills. In the end I said the hell with it and welded the shifter to the shaft and went out and had somemore fun.
