I know that, its just when I was trying to bleed the brakes I did not know what to open/pull on to bleed it. Is is the little ruber thing that you can pull on?
Do I have to unsrew it. How far do i have to losen up the nut?
Make sure plenty of fluid in master resie (add more as needed, never leting it go dry). Take the rubber cap off, & put something below the bleed nut to catch fluid (I just use a rag then throw it out) then do this...Originally Posted by pomona51
1) Pull brake lever in & hold, losten nut 1/4 to 1/2 turn, listen for air bubbl'n out.
2) Tighten nut, release brake lever.
3) "Rinse & Repeat"...![]()
I just did my rear brake & it took like 20 repititions of the above, filling the master a few times, to purge most of the air!?!?
if ya want something that will make bleeding brakes a whole lot easier, go to http://www.jlatvproducts.com/index.htm, look for a brake bleeder. I have one and it take less than 5 minutes to bleed a system that has no fluid in it. all you do is hook up the bleeder to the caliper and push the fluid through the caliper, hose and up into the master cylinder, and from there you tighten the bleeder screw and lightly pull on the brake lever and look for air bubblers if any show up. if there are no air bubles and the lever feels rock solid, you did it right and the process is over and you can re-install the master cylinder cap
I figured that part out. Now that this is done. The part/piston that pushes the btake pads together is fully extended and now wont retract I dont know how to make it retract. Any help. Thanks.
did you bleed the brake with the caliper off of the disc?
Use a C clamp to push the piston back in. Take the cap off of the resivour, and be ready to bail out extra fluid.
