I'm 33 and have been riding dirtbikes since 1983. I bought my 86 250R in the Spring of 2002, and have been restoring, rebuilding, and modifying it ever since. It is my first trike and I am real close to showing pictures of it.

I'm 33 and bought my first 3-wheeler in 1985, it was a 1978 atc90. Since then I have honestly owned over forty running 3-wheelers. So it has pretty much been all I eat, drink and sleep. My wife doesn't worry about me dragging another woman home, worries more about what big "piece of junk" (her words) I'm going to bring home. But she's great doesn't complain.

My first trike was an '83 ATC110 that my father brought home. I was 15 at the time and now I'm 37. I was an addict immediately! We traded that in on a 200S the next year and the year after that I bought my beloved 350X and still have it! Picked up a couple of 250R's (81 & 82) and bought my uncle's '82 Big Red. Now my Dad and I are fixing up the '81R and the '82 Big Red and he's 60 LOL. He still rides but it's on a 4-wheeler (Bombardier Outlander Max 2-seater). Although last year we both were riding 350X's out in the Glamis dunes and hitting the big dunes to boot! I guess we're both reliving the early years.

I was 37 when i bought my 185s new in 1981. I now have two 86 big reds out in the shed. I guess that makes me the oldest "old fart" so far.
You young farts will have to use your calculators to figure that one out.

I saw one ATC 250R back then and NEVER forgot it The first impression it made on me was INCREDIBLE. Well I've worked my but off , built a killer house on 30 acres, and now its time to buy and build the toys I could never have. When we rode back then (mid 80s one older guy with a scraggly beard (late 30s we called him BUB) always came down to watch us in the sand pit on a 200x. I thought to myself WOW "will i be riding when i'm OLD in my thirties". This spring I'm loadin up the 85 R going to the SAME sand pit and mountains where we used to ride and I'm taking a nostalgic ride to celebrate the memories, BUB, and riding in my thirties.

    Now thats a good story!
    Came full circle didnt it!

there was an older guy riding a spanking new 85 R and it made the same impression on me.....that was the day i was hooked.

It's hooked up in my basement. I use it every once in a while just for old times sake.
