    Gas Prices

I was just wondering what state has the least expensive gas. Here in central NY, i saw a Mobil charge $2.21. Thats the highest i've ever seen it, and diesel is like $2.35 or something astronomical. Anyone know why prices are so high?

Pretty simple, really. Every time the price of a barrel of crude oil goes up, (now $52) the price at the pumps immediately follow (even though that higher priced crude did not make the gas they are selling right now).

Chrisr200x, since you seem to have it all figured, maybe you can educate all of us and explain how any president of the US can make the price of gas go up, and what they would gain by doing it? Maybe you can also tell us what effect procuring our own crude oil from our own land might have on gas prices, and tell us which recent presdents support the idea, and who opposes it? Please educate me. Im dying to know.

Here on Fort Campbell it is 1.93 a gallon, but that's with a break since we are military......I think the locals get it at their places for over 2.00 a gallon!!!!!!!! I remember when it was .99 a gallon. That would be nice again....

92.9 cents a Liter over here , up from 89 last week.

Anyone ever wonder if all this oil we pump out of the ground could cause problems? we keep pumping and pumping and all that crude must serve a purpose for the earth's crust etc.... always wondered about that.

$1.92 here. 1 of the factors is the demand of oil. FYI, China has become the 2nd most dependant country for oil. In the last 10 yrs they have become motorized. Nearly tripled the amount of vehicals diving around daily than 5 yrs ago and increasing. It boils down to supply and demand. We have an abundance of wells capped off in the gulf, and in many cases its still cheaper to ship over than to pump it out and refine it ourselves. Does anyone now what kind of oil stock/investments GW owns, I don't think he is going to tap into the reserve soon unlike Clinton.

You Know, I am willing to bet money that if you search the archieves this subject comes up, right before spring break for the last few years. Then there is one I bet in April'ish and May really griping because they always skyrocket before Memorial, just slightly edging off after 4th.
