Past Rides:
1982 ATC Big Red 200e (miss it more than i thought i would)
1985 200x rode it for about a mile
I'll take a guess and say 54 mph.
I'd have to say about 50-53. Remember it's only a 5-speed! If it's not fast enough you can always put a larger front sprocket.

I have a 1985 200x that is bone stock restored to perfection including new zinc on the bolt heads. I rode it next to my girlfriend on my CBR and it clocked just over 55mph (57?). I'm 160lbs and this was on a dead level straight patch of asphalt here in Indiana. Just to note though, if you were at bonneville you could gear to the moon and probably get 100mph. In the real world this is a very good performing 3 wheeler that is comparable to a 300ex in terms of performance and suspension. Almost identical. 200x being slightly more fun, but that is only IMHO. The fun factor is at about a 9 on the fun-o-meter as wheelies and body language really make this a fun machine. The 2 stroke machines are a bit more fun, but require a lot more maintenance and money, different strokes for different folks i guess. I've had mine for 15 years and still love it. Hope this helps!
Mine tops out @ 64.5 mph as seen on my GPS. 13- 38 gearing with engine mods.

1985 BIGRED $ 200X
In 1985, my dad bought a new 85 model 200X. Now, I as too young to remember this, but acourding to him (and the guys in a truck that he passed up), His would go 63 mph pegged out on asphalt. Now my dad only weighed about 135 pounds back then so the X wasnt carring much of a load. I dont know how accurate that reading is off of a speedometer but thats what they stopped and told them he was doing. I would take my 83 out and give it a run but it would prolly fly apart before it ever to topped out.
