Question got my "new" R part, and now i need some help or advice

Well, today i got my slider for my R from Dave here on the forums (BLAZERONE22). I swaped it out with the one that was bad and put in new seals. That all went ok...the "putting-back-together" process was great until i had to put the hub and wheel assembly back on so i could test everything out...well my forks are tweaked, so the bottoms dont line up that well. i want to get new fork tubes, but i am 15 and dont have a "steady" job yet, so if you have sme straight ones lemme know. here is my question...first off: how do i put the front wheel back on. I followed my Clymer and that got me nowhere. if you have put one back on successfully please give me some tips and tricks man, i cant wait to get this out and go for a ride

Time to clean out all this stuff, Today I was rounding up all the parts for each machine and throwing them in a pile outside... Heres what the 83/84 pile looks like as of right now, I'm pretty sure that one fork is straight (the one compressed down into the slider because it has no springs) Not sure about the other one.. But either way, everything you see here is free (just pay shipping), if you want anything let me know, I can get more detailed pics and more info..

Give me no lip and I tell you no lie.

If they are slightly bent somewhere, just rotate the bottom part (sliders) around until you find the point where it lines up. I think that is what you are referring to. I had the same problem with my R, and I just rotated the sliders around till the wheel lined up, took a few tries but its perfectly straight now.

LOL, I wouldnt say its perfectly straight, You just found that sweet spot where it lines up with the other fork. And chances are if one is bent then the other is too.

well i got it figured out. to make a long story short, i dropped both forks and then attached the hub and axle to both, then i reinstalled the forks. it worked great, and they even look straight.

LOTS_OF_NOTHING: i dont suppose you have either of the lights, or the tank shrouds...
