One hint for all rubber slide on parts such as boots, and K&N filters -- In cold weather they can be really hard to get on, because the rubber gets hard. If you warm it up good with a hairdryer, or better yet a heat gun, itll stretch on a lot easier, and slide on a lot easier. I also add a little grease both for sliding it overe easier, and for a better seal.

I agree with everybody else. That's called the carburetor insulator and you don't have it all the way home.

First back the screw off on the clamp. Now make sure that the air intake snorkle is off [that's the part that connects the cabburetor to the air box].

With it off, you'll be able to put some balls on the carburetor in order to force it on. I use a little 2 stroke oil to lube the rubber. Now put some balls on it until it goes all the way home. Dont over tighten the clamp screw, tighten it up until the rubber starts to bulge. Then check and tighten as needed.
