Hey folks,
I am in need of a pair of OEM '86 ('85 the same, I assume?) 250R fork boots.
Who has them in stock and at the best price?
Cal-Atv has them for $65 delivered.
Anyone out there less expensive AND reliable?
Thanks for your help.

That's the best I've found as well. I've also been on the lookout.
I ended up with Daystars. I like the color better but the OEM definitely fit better. The Daystars that are the closest match are ever so slightly too small so if you end up going that route, stretch them out a little bit so they don't grab.
I've looked there and always get an error when I try to get the price for the fork boot.Originally Posted by Maine_Triker
My '86 came with aftermarket boots when I bought it.
They fit bad and were flimsy.
I picked up some used OEM boots from a person on this board and they lasted until today's ride but MAN did they fit 100% better than those oddballs my trike had.
Not trying to sound like a tightwad but $65 is tough to cough up for a couple little rubber boots.
Whew.
That's why I'm here......![]()
I know what you mean. The price is why I went with Daystars to begin with. $65 versus $16.
OEM
Daystar
I didn't stretch mine before I installed them and I should have. Wouldn't be difficult to do. The problem is Daystar has only a couple sizes. One that's "up to" 38mm and the other is for 41mm to 48mm or something like that (and those look WAY too big). The R forks are 39mm so just a slight amount of stretching to the smaller size (which I have) should keep them from grabbing.
i just bought a set from service honda a few months back for around 24 eatch, shipping is like 6 bucks i think. they were here in 2 days. Give em' a call.
I, too just got some from Service Honda (www.servicehonda.com), part # 51611-ha2-003. Price is $24.49 ea plus shipping. They have the best price you will find. They sell for more on ebay.
Sounds like Service Honda is the way to go.
Thanks again, folks.
You saved us a wad of cash.
