What do you mean it won't idle?? Never knew it did that to ya, never experianced that problem. As for the DS, pretty much what everybody else said. It's a tank, but it jumps excellent for how big it is, even with the stock suspention. Seems to rev pretty slow, but stock for stock it hangs with anything I've ever come up against. I thing it's just the way the engine sounds that makes seem like it's rev challenged. Plus the rev limit is like 7g's. Aftermarket items seem to be a little more $ than most. Pretty sure you can beat them to you know where and back and it keeps on tickin' Good luck and let's see some pics if you get it!

I just remember the C-Dale coughing out alot, and being hard to start. As if it wasnt happy unless it was revving to the moon, not that there is anything wrong with that. It kinda acted like it had a really mid range- top end cam to it, and it did not like sitting around. Thats how it seemed to me, but for a golf cart, I liked it alot. (the cannibal not the DS! LOL)

250RNUT did you get one yet? I've got the '04 DS650 Baja X. It rides great and has gobs of power and torque. You don't really notice the weight when riding it. Only when you have to get off and push it, which is rare. You just have to be smart about it when riding in the woods and trails. I'm only 6' tall and 200 lbs. and it still has more room for a bigger person. Most don't like em but the ones that do stick with them and are very happy!

okay heres my pount of veiw, I LOVE THEM, they are smokin fast, handle great for the size, jump very well and soak up every bump i threw at the baja X i rode, i rode it from glamis to patton valley, its mainly a very straight long ride and i was cruisin at 45 the gps said and i was hittin whoops and all and never had to slow down, they are heavy and big but i had no problem pinniing it out going to the drags that night, we came back from patton and straight to the drags i had it up to 65 on the flats and was flyin in and never felt akward. i love them if i can get my hands on one i will get one

Haha you got a little taste and now you're hooked. It's not named a Baja for no reason! I just got my Tecate and have been riding it around and didn't ride the DS. Then I rode the DS after a couple of weeks on the Tecate and forgot how fast it was.

that will be sick. dont take these opions as bad either. they were just pointing some stuff out. they are great quads for pits and feilds, and will be alright on trails but its just not something you buy as a trail quad.

I have ridden them, raced against them and I really don't see where the big problem is...They make a good all around Quad. For you guys that are used to riding 3 wheelers, yep, it is wide, tall and heavy. Go measure how wide alot of these guys with the 400EXs, 450s, and TRX250Rs are.....after they all buy $1000s of dollars worth of aftermarket suspensions....the same as a DS stock.... 50" wide. I agree they are not the lightest machines out there, but add a full compliment of Nerfs, skids, aftermarket Aarms/rezzy shocks and such to the "light" 4 strokes, and then the weights get alot closer. They only weigh 460lbs (dry) and compare that with the big 4x4s out there....which last time I checked were primarily built for TRAILS....and it is feather light. It is amazing to hear all the comments about it being a TANK...HUGE....***** in the trails and all the similar comments. These opinions sound like talking points from a DirtWheels review. I think a big guy...6' or so will love a DS for its great ergos and superior suspension. Add some simple engine mods and not many machines will hang with it across the open fields either...IMHO...all around good machine with lots of aftermarket goodies available and it is bulletproof to boot! Good luck with your deal.

DS650 is 470lbs dry and the DS650x is 495lbs dry! That's 145lbs MORE then the TRX450R and the YFZ! Sounds like you need to take that big girl home at 3am and not tell your friends about it.
