    Who is into street bikes?

I just picked up an 87 CBR Hurricane in decent shape for $1500 and have already made plans to turn it into a street fighter. It has only the rear plastic but its in great drivable condition. I'm buying Yamaha FZ1 fairing from my cousin and adapting it to fit the CBR to hide the wiring and cluster. Some cheap fogs and I'm ready for the road. Right now I'm just going to tool around on it, learn wheelies and stoppies, do some drag racing on the weekends and after all that I'll invest a little coin into making it what I want.

So who else has a sportbike or cruiser? Post pics if ya can.

I'm addicted to street riding/bikes. This Jan. I picked up a '95 FZR 600 in great shape. I took it out a couple of times. This is my first bike and plan on keeping it for awhile. My buddy and i picked up his bike a couple of weeks ago,'82 Virago 920. That bike has some pick up and go,heh. You have any pics of that CBR?

Thats taking quite the drop in power isn't it? I hear once you get on a twin you'll never get rid of the bug to have one.

The CBR is great, really comfortable and still has tons of power for a learning rider. Its not as cramped up as most of the newer sportbikes either. I'll get pics of it in a week or two when it arrives and the front fairing is on.

I had a Hurricane. It was a sweet bike for it's age. The original F1.

I have owned street bikes since I was 13. I had a Honda V65 Sabre that I used to drag race quite a bit. My true love is travelling on bikes, I have a 2002 Harley Road King Classic that I travel on and an old 1976 Ironhead Sportster that I ride through the country on.

Alot of people had these bikes and there are a lot still circulating around for cheap.

Those V65's were monsters! I imagine you won a good share of races on it. Have any topend trouble? I hear oil starvation at the cam was a big problem and really common.

I have a 1982 Yamaha XJ 550 in-line 4-cylinder. It has plenty of power for me. I would love to pick up an R1 or CBR, or better yet...a Huyabusa!!

I have 1981 Yamaha XS1100, it glides down the road quit nice and it also beats up on all the inexperienced 600cc sport bike riders all the time, considering thats really the only size of sport bike around here. The only ones i cant touch in town are the V-max's. I haven't seen any V-65's around town but i have the V-45 and a few V-35's around town.

Big Green I guess I was lucky I didn't have any problems with oiling. I used only Bel-Ray synthetic in it and got 134,000 miles out of her before I got rid of it. It may still be running today. I won quite a few races on it, the biggest roadblocks was that dang Yamaha V-Max. There was one local guy who had one with a slick, wheelie bar, and a few engine mods running in the high 9's in the quarter mile. I hated that guy.
