    200s Exhaust System

I really dont feel like dealing with my stock head pipe and muffler on my 200s. The shroud screws are frozen, and one of the bolts that hold on the plate and gasket onto the muffler snapped, and took a lot of metal off with it.

Instead of screwing around with it, I am just going to get an aftermarket one. I wanted to keep it all original, but im thinking of getting the rear suspension kit for it to, so what the hell is wrong with an aftermarket exhaust.

My choices are the RCM steel exhaust pipe, or the cobra Q exhaust system.

I dont want the trike to be obnoxiously loud, but from what i hear, the Q system is just slightly louder than stock. I dont know how loud the RCM steel pipe is though.

I assume i would probably need to rejet, but i think i can handle it.

What do you guys think? The RCM steel is like 110 new + x shipping, and the cobra Q is 140 + 20 shipping.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I know a kid that has the RCM on a 185s and it makes it sound nice. Louder than stock but not wake up the neighbors loud. I sure the Cobra is quiter. RCM seemed to pep it up too.

crackshot, theres one on ebay. If you want it, go for it. I want to keep it original and by that suspension kit being taken away, im one step closer haah. Its at like 50 bucks right now. Look in the ebay forum. Title is "for you hardtail guys"

Any other opinions? I'm leaning towards the Cobra Q series, but the RCM is cheaper, so i need some more opinions. Thanks for yours toyota200x.

    Thanks,

Its cool. I won't snag deals that boost prices. I am a fabricator and can easily chop, fab and install in a few hours if I want.

If your 200 is nice and you go to sell it someday, a nice oem exhaust will be advantageous to a higher price..get a used header and a new muffler cost you $150 maybe a bit more but you'll get more @ resale and save that whole rejet pail of worms.

bah i doubt im going to sell, but i am definately going to keep the stock exhaust system. Maybe ill work on refinishing it and fixing the busted bolt and stuff, but i really just wanna throw an aftermarket one on there.

i have the RCM, the only reason i bought mine is because i found a discount catalog that had a limited supply of them for $79. i used it on my 200s that has no engine mods. to it and it goes through all the gears faster and top speed seems faster too. also sounds good.

I wanted that susp. kit on ebay and I was going to bid on that kit, but if one of you guys really wanted it, we wont start the price wars. Just let me know.
I was going to go with the cobra Q for my exhaust, eventually.

I would go with the DG, actually I plan on using a DG for my 200x when time comes to get one. One of my friends has a cobra on his 200s (UNI filter, 10:1 piston 1st bore, jetted) and although it did help make more power then when it had the stock exhaust, it seems like it is made of cheap metal and rusts quick.

Go RCM, makes the little 200 sound mean. Deep growl at idle, with a noticable pickup in pep.

I would expect you will have to rejet, probably won't have to go up much though as Yamaha can with a decent exhaust stock. The best way to tell what is going on inside your engine is a plug chop, check the sticky on carb. jetting on the top of the Trikesylvania page, there is allot of good info there.
