Here's another idea that works (with ants anyways). Fill the hole with oxyacetylene gas for a couple of minutes then light off.In this case--remotely. You WILL go flying. The ants were at least a couple of feet underground and many attempts to find the queen were made. Soo..I went osama all over them. The ground raised up about 2 inches when I lit it right under me for a whole meter in diameter. Gas was still exploding 10 minutes later so you wanna make sure there are no gas,sewer,water pipes or buried cable under there. They never came back!
