Anybody ever done the 350x/250x swap?

A buddy and I are putting a 350x motor in a 250x and we have a few q's. First what carb did you guys use? 350x or 250x? He got the motor in and bolted down today will try to wire it up and install carb tomorrow. Also will the stock 250x air box work or will I have to use a clamp on?

Thanks for any and all help.

Well I have not done this, but I assume that you need the extra fuel and air from the 350X carb to feed the larger 350X motor.

well i have all the details, one of my friends has taken out a perfect running 350x engine and installed it in a 250x frame he had to use all the 350x wiring, and use the 350x carb, then after he did that he took the 250x engine and put it in the 350x frame and used the 250x wiring, and now that wheeler has reverse in it now its pritty neat.

Your biggest problem will be the exhuast. The folks at powroll know a few things about this, they sell a kit.

if you do that you should upgrade the suspension and make it wider and longer or it will be real unstable. the way it is is to compact a chasis for the size of the motor.

Here is an update. We bought the install kit from powroll. Used the 250x harness w/ 350x cdi. We went with the 250x carb that way we could use the stock air box and tube. It is all together except for the chain. Will let you guys know how it runs soon.
