It is an unbelievable R isnt it. Even if its old pics post one or two of that machine I can always look at that beauty again and again.

I put an extra warning decal on the fender since I did not like the black and white one that comes with the new R fenders...ashame honda lost the mold...

I cover the R up completely thats why it looks like its covered in blankets...cause it is!!

Lately I have been admiring my Quadzilla. The engineering that went in the zilla is incredible. The power is outrageous...

LT 500's are just very unique machines and they were released the year after trikes got the ax...so they were almost like a finger in the eye of the CSPC....

...I love them....as far as mint goes...

the zilla more than matches the 250r....its just as mint in my opinion...maybe even more so.

yeah the original owner did that somewhere in California....I have no idea how.

It never really bothered me. My bikes are never perfect...they are close....but never perfect because then I would never ever ride them....I ride them barely right now!!

You must have a small dog to fit in that kennel. I don't think my cat would even fit in it.

yeah they are very small...and loud!!

Here are some used but pretty good shape Banshee rims that I am going to put on my Z ....the other ones don't look as good.

One of these pics was my attempt to paint the 'Yamaha' lettering on the back of my Z seat...I used good vinyl paint...but to no avail...

I found someone who can make a seat with the letter....can even do ATC 250R seats if you give him the stencil pattern....

    Love Them !!

Makes me want to work on the R but with the tiger project I think I'll disassemble the R in the winter as a winter project. Mine is still very nice to look at but looking at yours it needs some more.

Question I did decided to powder coat the stock pipe on the R and I had it powdered high heat satin black. When I see yours mine still looks to shiny even with the satin. What would you describe yours as satin / flat , or other. Also does your heat shield have dimples or is it smooth?? I didnt pay attention when I dropped my dirty stock pipe off and when I first got it back I thought it looked messed up.

Awesome LT500 Ive alwats loved them. Were you able to find factory plastics and decals for it?

darius- thanks alot for taking the time to snap a few shots. Your mint R gives me the inspiration to make sure every detail is accounted for on my resto. By the way,I was only 3 years old in 1986. thanks again
