    Thanks

Orangecity250r : its a satin. I never repainted the pipe. Only touched up the header right by the cylinder. Its so well painted and sweet looking. Honestly its a true satin. Not flat but not shiny. I did my Z pipe in a glossier color and it looks good as well but is not original.

The LT 500R was pretty darn mint when I got it. I changed the plastic 2 years ago and was able to find all the decals. It is a 1990 model so that helped. Not sure if the
'500' decals on the fenders are still available. Those were hard to find and most people don't know that 1990 was the only year that they were 3 colors. Other years they were 2 color.

Granger: I have banshee rims on my Z now. These in the pic are in much better shape. I am going to get some Dunlop KT355's (the OEM rubber on the YZ 450F)...its actually pretty close in tread pattern to the original 86 Dunlops on the Z.

    For the Z:

    1) I plan to re-plate the axle,
    2) get a custom seat cover that will look like OEM (with "yamaha" on the back...now its just red
    3) get the swing arm professionally painted
    4) put the OEM 'Tri Z' decals I bought on ebay on the fenders and buy the OEM decals that go near the riders calves.
    5) I am also going to Jerod re-make some rare decals that Kintore showed me.

By summertime the Z will be looking nicer than all of them....it deserves it because out of the 3 I like riding the Z the best!!!

I am just about done with my restore. I took alittle different approach with mine. I used almost all factory parts except the following Axle, bearing carrier, antifade nut, s.s brake lines, S.S rotors, powdercoted frame and swinger( factory colors). I've also done alot of polishing of aluminum. I couldnt resist freshining it up with esr portwork, and pipe. Ive replaced 95 % of the hardware to S.S. It has all factory plastic, wheels, seat etc. Ive been wanting to post pics, but i seem to be too retarded

    Love the pics-

The large pro link decals were available at service honda a while back. The small one is discontinued. Jared is resizing the large one to the smaller size for the back.

I Would love to see all the bikes in a lot. Actually when all these are done I would love to do a couple of shows. Has anyone ever been to a show that shows ATVs or three wheelers. Think of all the people thay may have never seen some of these bikes(man are they missing out) thats why I'm happy to see the younger guys getting into these.

Wanta86R (your 250R sounds great) you were three years old in 86 and I was 14 wanting one of these badly. How did you come to admire three wheelers. Cant wait to see your pictures.

Darius your right! Definetely has not been cheap. I've thought about that but near perfection has been my goal. I plan on keeping these for a long time so maybe I'll experience some appreciation in price over the years. Who knows how collectible these will be in 10 - 15 years (When more of the perfect plastics and parts weve purchased have been discontinued or gone all together). But the way I look at it even if I didnt get out of them what I have into them the enjoyment of having them and the fun of rebuilding them will offset the cost. Ive been catching myself just staring at the tecate. You cant put a price on peace of mind .

I compare $ spent in other areas --Taxes on my property ($7000 yearly and school taxes going up 26 - 32% this year alone depending on the vote

Buy a brand new vehicle and lose 7-10,000 on it the first year.

Stay out of trouble and avoid those costs.

I could go on and on so in the end the trikes are a bargain.

Darius are you talking about zinc plating the axle. I am trying to find a local guy to do some zinc plating for me for my restores. I like to personally drop my stuff off. Let us know how that goes. I saw a zinc plating kit in eastwood but it looks like a science project that could blow up. That Z will better than awesome.
