Did you loosen and remove the allen bolt on the bottom of the fork leg?

I guess you did cause you took out the damping rod.

You need to put your forks in a vise but be careful not to over tighten, then slide the inner tube in and snatch it back tawords you and the seals. After a few tries the seals and the inner tube should pop right out. Oh by the way make sure you have removed the seals snap ring.

did you pull them apart by hand or lock them in vice. I was wondering because I have to do the same with my Z and don't have a vice.

    Exclamation New Problem

OK now i have a new problem i put the new seal in about 1/2 way when remembered that i didnt put in the Taper Spindle. So i yanked everything out but the metial slide didnt come out. It stayed inside the fork leg. Now i cant get the medal slide out and cant get the inner leg in. Any ideas how i can get the metal slide out. Ive tried everyting i can think of but its jammed in there pretty good. You can see from the picture that the inner silver ring is stuck in there.

to tell ya the truth that fork is still damn dirty on the inside. the cleaner the better. better operation and better re-assembly. as for stuck parts, get a propane torch and heat that are of the fork tube up and it should pop out

I screwed up the teflon like coating on both the metal slides. I guess forcing it dosent work in this case. So tommrow im gonna use the dremel to cut out the stuck medal slide. I have already ordered a new medal slides.
