Well finally got the motor put back together and running. The trike runs real hard. It suprised me how well it runs. it was worth the time money an effort. Here is what I did to the motor. All new bearings and gaskets, had ftz racing port and bore the cylinder. Put a new Weisco piston in it. Also had FTZ racing shave the head ( it is a bear to pull the recoill starter rope now). Also had them put a new rod on the crank. New clutch basket, new clutch disks and plates, and new boysen power reeds. The trike also has a bassani exhaust and I took off the air box and put on a foam air filter. Also has a pro tec suspension, and wheel spacers. I want to share a tech tip if you ever mess with the clutch on a 175 or 125. I ordered the new metal clutch plates from yamaha put the motor back together and started the trike tried to make it go and the clutch slipped bad. Tried readjusting the clutch same thing. I thought i put it together wrong and tore the cluth basket off checked everything and put it back together and it still slipped. Well by this time I was loosing my mind. Well I had the old disks and plates laying next to the new ones and I noticed they where the same height. The new ones also had the metal spacer with them so it should have been taller then th old plates. I find a 175 yamaha manual and guess what there is a + and - clearence on your clutch. You have to take a micrometer and measure the cluth plates because there are like 3 different widths. You have to combine the different widths plates to get into the factory specs. Well yamaha only shows one part number for the clutch plates and all the new plates the sent me where all the smallest width you can get there fore that is why it slipped. It drove me nuts trying to figure that out. I know some of you guys are experienced mechanics and are probably laughing at me but I am self taught and that was a hard lesson to figure out. Well Thats all for now Glenn
