hey tecate guys anyone done this

well i have a 1984 tecate and i just picked up some kx500 parts from some guy then i got to thinking could i put the kx500 tank and shrouds and radiators on my trike. i think i seen some picks some where of someone who did this what do you guys think also post some pics if you have some of this done

I bought an 85? I believe KX500 tank off ebay a while back and test fitted it to my 85 Tecate and its all wrong for the bike. It rubs the pipe, petcock gets in the way as well because its on the Tecates pipe side and the rad shrouds would need to be trimmed to not hit the handle bars at full lock.

*Edit* The guy you saw do this was Tecate4Life I would imagine, he used a Kx250 tank and custom made shrouds.

What KX parts did you get? You can use the KX reed cage in your bike.

i got some shrouds,seat, front and rear fenders,sub frame,three sets of forks,tripple trees and a basket full of misc parts.do you think i could mod the tecate trees to fit kx dirt bike forks?

Theres always a way to do it. Best bet would be to get the Tecate tripples bored out to fit the KX forks.
