    Honda mini trail 50/70 forums

Anyone know of a forum for Honda mini-trail 50's or Trail 70's? Looking for some info on shifting problems.

I don't know of any forums, but I do know they use the same basic tranny as a ATC70.

Well I have a Trail 70 with a manual clutch that doesn't want to upshift in to 3rd all the time. If you go from 2nd to 4th then back to 3rd it will work. I also have a mini trail 50 that sometimes you have to hit the shifter more than once to get it to shift. This one is a 3 speed auto clutch. I have 2 more trail 70 motors, one is manual clutch one is auto clutch. I though about puting the auto clutch motor in the 50.

Anyone know what the difference between the 50cc and 70cc motors are? Can I put a 70 top end right on a 50?

And I wanting to know why these things have shifting problems? I've heard the shift forks wear out and I'm guessing thats the problem. Anyone know what parts I exactly need to buy? I looked on dratv.com and they have all the shifting parts for very cheap but I'm not sure what I need? And what is involved with this job? Splitting the cases I bet? Both of them have the kick starters welded on too. (why do people do that?). I'll grind the weld and I'm sure they just need new kick starters but if the shaft is bad too those are cheap anyway.

Or does anyone want a 1970 mini trail 50? Would probably take as low as $215. Runs great and no smoke at all.

Are you coming to TF05? This would be a great machine for my 2 youngs.

Depending how my money situation looks I'd like to make it. I'm in IL so it shouldn't be too bad of a drive. I will hopefully have my 250R fixed by then or I guess I'll be bringing the 450R. I would like to fix or sell it sometime soon though. It is a possibility I could bring it along. We'll see how things work out.

Check out http://www.hondatrail70.com it is a cool site and they have a new forum up that may be able to help you. They do tend to have shift fork problems in that case you can replace the forks or have them welded, it is tuff to say without going into the trans. and inspecting them.

Thank, exactly what I was looking for. I guess I need to sell the 50 as it is then I'm going to tear into the 70. My buddy is looking for a 70 too. We are going to license them!

I would like to get a CT70 and put it on the road too. I have had several mopeds and they are fun but I prefer 4 strokes.
