My Bumble Bee - YTMBB 225

Here is how far my 225 has come in the 4 months or longer that I've had it. I'm going for the "Bumble Bee" (killer bee) look thru out the whole machine. Not using the ugly R inner & outer brake covers as there is too much hidden beauty under there and besides, I think they hold dirt in since they are not sealed like a Honda.

I'm having aluminum brakets made by MX 600 for under rear fenders rather then the thin crap Yamaha steel jobs and a bracket for the tension spring on caliper. On the paper is my updated one from the one you see in picture. Decided it will be much stronger using the 3 bolt system. This was my third redesign and am finally satisfied.

The axle (almost like new) is from a 200. It is built heftier then the 225, weighs a lb more and fits right on. $28 including shipping. I thought that was a fantastic deal considering it will now be stronger then stock and it's like new condition.

Still a lot more ideas spinning in my head so i'll keep you updated.

BTW - That is Krylon fusion paint (can be used on metal too). A close match but it's a bit more of a vivid yellow. Once I'm satisfied with the look I'll eventually start having the small parts powder coated . No sense getting a part PC'd only to discover you don't like how it looks.

    Getting nervous edog?

Some things I refuse to by used though and feel a new headlight cowling will really help the whole front end overall. Mine was just too tweaked, busted and warped to do anything with.

Yea, I'm sure I'll still have quite a few ?s to go yet. Actually have a few now but I'm giving everyone a rest from me for a bit then I'll start rapping them off again. I go in spurts depending on what I'm doing on it.

Ahhh, go a head, post it! I'd like to see it and maybe some will give you a few ideas?

Thanks edog........maybe someday (if I ever finish this thing ) we can get side by side pic's. I think that would make for some cool shots.

I have been on one 2 stroke 3 wheeler in my life and that was a 81 (what ever the 1st year was) 250R that I restored for a freind.

I'd love to have either one - Tri-Z or the R but not an old R like that one. For my riding area though 1st choice would be a 200 or 350X. Had two 200X's and miss them

I'll keep my eyes open for you and if I see something, blast you a PM.

Thank you all and I have a few more BB parts to paint and just got to thinking HMMMM, I have a full spare set (F&R) of steel wheels. I just wonder how they would look yellow. That would be my winter time look. With them you'd need a set of oakly sunglasses for sure!

Could do black too but I was never too keen on black wheels with black tires - I'm a contrast kind of dude.

Any suggestions what else you'd paint yellow? Might give me ideas, never know till ya ask!
