i have two sets of trees for my 1984 tecate that i am building im going to try to mill them out to except kx 250 forks i am also thinking about making a third brace to go on 1/2 way down the forks for support just above the tire i plane on running a 85 front tire.do any of you not run front brakes or should i try to make the brake system work. post your thoughts, thanks replys!!!!

the front brake in my opinion is way needed. think about it, what happens when you get on the brakes, all you weight goes to the front of the bike, right? over 70% of your braking power is from your front tire. granite 3wheelers have more tire area on the ground in the rear compared to a motorcycle but the same effect happens for both when you hit the brakes, all the weight goes to the front

Great idea, I've always wanted to see USD's on a fat tire Tecate. I'd look into making the brake setup work.

Brake system is a must, let say your riding one day and your rear system goes out somehow, seeing how fast the T-3's are I would think it would be stupid not to have a front brake, as far as puttin KX Forks on it, that would be awesome.

Would that make the front end of the bike sit really high. It seems like the tecate sits lower than the liquid cooled R's.

I think he's going for the all out beefiness of the kx forks as opposed to ride height. it's nothing to slide the triple clamps down the forks to lower the front end
