a factory 85 200X will put out between 12-14HP and will go between 55-60MPH. as for mods, depends on what you want, if you want just a little more power but not much put a 10.25:1 piston in it, go to webcams racing and get the cam thats the next over stock and get a DG exhaust. do a little port work on the intake side and a little more on the exhaust. put a K&N filter in and you should have a spry little machine on your hands for awesome trail riding. now if you want a small rocket to ride, go one full millimeter over bore, 12:1 piston, full racing cam, a full racing port job on the intake and exhaust, 31mm intake valve from webcams racing, 28mm carb, DG exhaust, K&n filter, no air box lid, put it an alcohol or vp 110 race gas, and 2 more teeth one the front sprocket and 20" tires in the rear. with the first set up you might get 17-19HP out of the litle motor or you could go with the second choice and have about 22-25HP. granite that don't sound like a whole lot when you compare that to 250R's, tecate's, and TRI-Z's but when you think how small the 200x is, either build up would make it very fun

25hp sounds a little high. So your saying you can pull the same hp out of a 200x as a 350x?

I've seen it done with my own 2 eyes. buddy of mine had a 200x built like i said and he has out ran/run down many stock 350x's in drag races. his ran on alcohol and it screamed for a 200x. I didn't believe it either until I seen it in action

    Here's my money pit.

I wonder why the x is faster than the other Honda 200 models? It's the same motor isn't it? I think they are lighter than the 200s and 200m.

well..mine goes about 50mph on the 22mm 185s carb...it aint goin very good..it stays running but when i put it in 4th or 5th and try to haul....theres a very loud tapping noise that sounds like a rocker or lifter is tapping very bad...it wont do it on choke cause it doesnt let the engine get to a high enough rpm but when its not on choke its bad...could it be the 87 octane on a 12:1 wiseco 67mm piston?? i have a smaller carb on it right now also..the only reason theres 87 octane instead of 93 or higher is cause i ran outa gas and thats all we had at the house...it runs good tho...just that loud tapping...i think i need to adjust the rockers and/or lifters but it seems to run great...it climbs hills pretty good in 2nd too

so * think its my lifters or whatever they are..or the gas?? today it really screwed me over...i was ogin down the road..and it overheated!! not cool..i waited about 5 minutes and it started back up..got about 3 miles from my house..did it again...wouldnt run on choke or nothin..now that i got my kickstarter fixed...it hasnt over heated but for some reason running really rich..a smaller carb makin it run to rich?...it runs good for a few minutes but then it starts bogging and the only thing i can do is turn the choke on or turn off the machine..it will start up fine again after bout 5 minutes but it runs really rich..98 main 40 pilot..think its the slide needle? im going to mess with that tomarrow..its bolwing out black smoke when i hit the gas so im thinkin its too rich..lol..the plug is dry black and brownish right where the little thing is where it sparks...i dunno what thats a sign of...

    i seriously doubt a 200x will go 55-60mph.

mine feels like its running out of about 45mph (before it was smoking )
