A 200es is no doubt the best mudding trike. I have owned both the 250 and the 200 and the 200 is a fair bit lighter and it floats easier. Hands down the 200es is the best mud trike ever mass produced! A 200es with some bearclaws or something similar and you wont be stopping for nothing

yeah right now with knobbies i rarely get stuck, i need some new one, ill check into the sur-traks. if only i had some suspension. i like the chain drive though better than shaft. my friend has an 85 250es and it isnt as responsive as my 200e.. as for setup what should i do for mud proofing, i know someone just posted this, but what is necessary for real deep mud, nothing over the seat, and does the chain gaurd useful, because as far as i can see it will hold mud and water in it, havent bothered taking it off yet and the seal is gone.

Mud Lites are nice in the mud (like the name implies) but they are slightly heavier(6-ply).

Put mud lites in the back and a knobby in the front, and there will be nothing that can stop you on your 200e!

Edog, you don't take that beautiful blue 225 out in the mud do you?

I think the Honda 250sx would give a big red or any other trike a run for it's money in the mud. I can tell you from past experiences that a 250sx will go places a 4 wheeldrive quad will not go.

I think that my trike could top that 250 sx.

Not that I'm biased, but I have found lately that a ATC 200s with mudlites on the rear is unstopable. I prefer a hardtail trike in the mud. My yamahauler with rear wooley boogers is damn good too, but my front tire is too big and heavy (25X12X9 Maxxis Buckshot Mudder- would be a great rear tire). Stick with a light 2 ply knobby on the front.

A Yama what? Mud Trike? NAAAA.... Just messing with ya Edog. Never rode one. I would say that the 200 would make since being light and all. But I had my SX in a few bog holes. My 87 BigRed went across the same hole better. Bit faster and easier. I think its because of its bigger tires and more ground clearance. Lighter is good in some conditions, but a little more weight helps it cut thru the mud and get down to something decent. Thats my 2 cents. Dont know. I have a 350X, but it hasnt ever seen any mud and prob wont as long as I own it.
