    yeah it's not like an engine so the rearend being full doesn't seem like a bad thing....on the 225 engines is there an oil filter?i see 3 hex key screws seems like a oil filter..anyone know?

    well i know there is in a 200E, so id imagine there is one in a 225. And yes its those three hex screws. just take them off and pull the filter out

    so is it pretty much fool proof???only goes in 1 way?Also is ther a seal or o-ring or is it built onto the filter??

    There is a marking on the filter that say either inside or outside, cant rememerb which. If it says inside, that side goes into the motor, and outside...you get the point. There is an o-ring on the cover of where the oil filter goes.
    Its easy to do. drain out all the oil by taking the drain plug out, then loosen the filter cover and take the filter out, clean it out or replace it. put it back together, add oil

    sweet thanks for the help.....drain is on the underside right????my previous was a honda and the drain was on the side so i forget about the yamaha's

    its in the same spot as a honda's, its just instead of needing a 24mm wrench like a honda, you'll need a smaller one, not sure of the size though.

    Of the three screws, the lower 1 is also the drain for the oil filter housing. If I remember right 1 of the screws is different length than the other 2, so pay attention when you pull them out.

    yep the one furthest to the left is the longest one. All three are differant lengths so just remmeber when your taking them out. They will all only go in one way.
