Just got back from the salvage yard!

Well I just couldn't pass up getting some plastic for the 200x project. I know they are 250R fenders but they will fit with a little modification . I was going to buy new fenders for it but I like the light blue that these are (they are not painted). They are a little dirty and have some light scratches so they will get some finishing sanding before they are installed. The big bummer is that there are 2 exhaust burns . Anyone have a creative way to fix them?

The only thing that would cover that up would be some kind of stainless steel plate, It might look a little out of place but so would trying to melt some blue plastic back in there and it would still be noticable. By the way that is a nice shade of blue you got there.

Sand to a smoth surface then use matching heavy duty stickers on both sides?

Maybe that plastic welding setup they are selling on harbor freight,give it a try and let us know if its worth it,thats what im waiting for someone to try it first lol

i would try to sand it down first then try to melt some more plastice over the rough spots and sand it over agian. I think its going to be tricky to do and even more tricky to find plastic of matching collor. But if all that dosnt work i think what Ryah said would be my next route.

One of my friends tried the welding thing and it didn't work very well. I plan on giving it another try this summer though.

That is what I was thinking but it is going to be hard to find the same color.

I think I will be able to reform the 200x seat pan and use that. If it works then yes the seat will be for sale but unfortunatly there are a couple quarter inch rips in it.

Where's this salvage yard??? Is it in NY? I heard of one up in Ontario NY, and MIK6 has his "secret" one he's talked about in the past.

The salvage yard is called Cycle Recyclers, they are in Rochester, PA 15074. It is about 20 minutes from where I go to college. I head back home to NY on Monday.

Isn't the blue plastic avalabile from maier?

This is old Maier plastic. The maier site has dark blue plastic listed for the 250R still but I don't know how dark it is but it looks alot darker on there web site.

If you want to match the color, just shave pieces off of the underside of the plastic with a razerblade in a bunch of differant spots. You'll have the exact same color and probaly wouldnt be able to notice where it came from

Right now they are not for sale. I still have to try them on the 200x and as long as it doesn't take too much to make them work then I am keeping them.
