Neither of the bikes were ever 3 wheelers, they are both convered/ customized Rokons. 2 wheel drive bikes that were made from the 50's / 60's till today.

I dont think the red one is 2 wheel drive, but if it isn't, i can't explain why it has that kinda of a tire on it. Shouldn't it have hydralic lines going up front or some kinda of chain contraption if its 2 wheel drive?

    rokons

The Rokons are 2 wheel drive 2 wheel bikes originally. The rear wheel is driven through a transfer case & auto trans., and another shaft comes off the transfer case and runs through the top tube of the frame to the (triple tree?) where the handlebars mount. There is a miter box (type of universel joint) there that supplies power to the fromt wheel via chain drive.
The miter box has a clutch type setup that cuts power to the front wheel to different degree's depending on how sharp its turned. If it didnt it wouldnt turn worth crap and would bind up. It is a pretty simple set up but works extremely well. There is a full fun down on The Rokon website.
The bikes (stock) will climb a 60 degree hill, tow 3,000 lbs. and I believe haul 800 lbs. on the bike. You can get all sorts of accessories for them from trailers, disc sets for plowing fields, game carrying racks, rifle cases, side cars, and tons of other things.
There are numerous Socom military forces using them around the world today to reach otherwise unreachable areas.
