turn your pilot screw clockwise till it "lightly" seats or the motor dies if running then back it out 1 full turn 360deg.

I find it set ideally as 1.5 turns out. As the Fox said, 2 turns is factory spec. This is assuming your jetting is stock.

My scan is from the clymer manual, but the clymer for the Yamaha 200 gives the directions you gave so they are probably both right.
