    I now know why

    lol I now know why most peoples plastice look like crap. Because its a huge pain in the arse to sand them down. I started sanding the front fender on the water pumper today boy does it take long and im only half way done with it. Im already haveing nightmares just thinking about them rear fenders lol. I now have a new respect for everyone with refinished fenders.

    All it takes a little bit of patience, and a bit of know-how. I can whip up a new finish in little time at all by hand.

    Heres a yammie fender I did just for the heck of it.. I spent about 15 minutes on it.. I do it all by hand.. Just because theres no machine to screw it up or go too deep.

    Thats all fade.. Not dirt.

    Right now I am working on a flattrack 250R tank/shrouds for pumper on here, this is a real bad one here, Its not faded, but crackly and bubbled, you have to go DEEP.. And the wings it looked like someone took a wire wheel to them.. But .. Lots of handwork and patience it will slowly clean up..

    Heres a close up of the surface;

    Heres after the first rundown with the tools, Looking much better, but still lots of work involved to get it perfect;

    Its easy after you do it a few times, Dont give up on it.. Just keep going at it, it WILL be worth it in the end.
    Give me no lip and I tell you no lie.

    sblt500r recommended using one of those hand held orbital sanders with a very fine grit sandpaper. I think that would cut down on some serious sanding time.

    Yup, part of the plastic renew process is the sanding.

    Lucky for me I know someone who has a neat garage w/loads of tools, and he helped sand down the rear fender.
