What about Kawaski and KTM? I heard that the Yamaha and KTM came out on top.

i raced my cr125 for a while about 2 seasons and the motor only came apart once and that was before i started racing, i had it mx ported and polished and had the head milled, only time it came apart and i PINNED that bike every race, i say cr they are great bikes, persoanly nothn against the yamaha but i feel more comfortable on the cr.

Any reason why? That bike doesn't hold a candle near the new ones.

I have to say the rm125 has been kick ass for the last 3 or 4 years now. I've got an 02 rm125 and it has been the best bike out of any of my friends machines. its got a good spread of power from the bottom to the top and hasnt failed me once. I;ve been running the same top end since aug 2002 (brand new) and i still have something like 140 lbs of compression and i ride it hard and often. Best riding buddy had an 02 yz 125 with fmf fatty and boyeson reeds and it was a good bike fairly powerful but with no mods to my rm i could do anything he could and was never down on power. another buddy had 02 cr125 and that thing was just weak, looks good and handles good but the power just isnt there and hasnt been there with the cr's up until this year. look for 125 two stroke shootouts for the last few years and you will be able to get an idea of each bikes strong and weak points and just pick which bike you think suits you best and you could be happy.

Sorry for the length just trying to as detailed of an explaination as i can for you because i know how much a bike costs and how bad it sucks to not be happy with what you have.
