    Talking Elusive 87's

    Elusive 87' s

    Hey all...

Not too long ago, I read a piece on this forum about the 87 model year HONDA ATC's, and their mysterious existence (or lack thereof).

Although the article featured the rare 350 from a brochure, the article mentioned that all 87 model year ATC's are hard to come by.

    It this really the case?

Because I just bought a couple of 87 ATC250es's that are in REALLY GOOD shape (just replaced the spark plug in each and put in new gas - they'd been sittin' for a while - also charged the battery in each). Both started right up and run great. Although, one in particular seems to have more power than the other, both seem to be in sound mechanical condition. Plastics on each are in solid shape with no cracks or breaks, but one is missing the side piece that covers the kick starter.

I got them both as a package deal (for a song, too!)

Could anyone tell me what they might be valued at??

    Thanks,

    Bob

87 Big Reds, 250SX's and 200x's are more rare but there are quite a few around. You would really have a find if you had a 87 350x or 250r because nobody has ever seen them.

I kind of need to update that article on the mainpage to reflect findings over the last couple years. The 87 200X, 250ES, 250SX are kind of common and are listed in the Honda of America ID guide. The 87 ATC125m is alot rarer then the above 3, but it is out there and is in the Honda of america ID book. The 87 250R and 350X have never been found whole or in peices enough peices to verify their year. Neither is in the Honda of america ID book.
